Originally exhibited at the infamous 'soap-box show' at the Stable Gallery on April 21st 1964, the Warhol Brillo Box sculptures that revolutionised western art, popularizing the ubiquitous and commercial, have now come full circle as inspiration for utilitarian objects destined to become design classics. In conjunction with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the Warhol 'Brillo Box Pouf', a functional work of art, has been developed to continue Warhol's legacy and maintain the Foundation's position as one of the leading funders of contemporary art in the United States. Each is made of Quinze & Milan’s patented high density QM FOAM™ and screen-printed with the iconic Brillo logo (coated and screen-printed by hand and presented in Warhol Foundation approved cardboard boxes, screenprinted 'Andy Warhol' signature to underside). The product is exceptionally well-made, coated with a waterproof paint making outdoor use possible - a seat, a foot stool or side table, or even an object with no purpose whatsoever, a work of art, as Warhol originally intended.
