Keith Haring
Unique drawing, black marker pen on offset lithograph.
The iconic Haring drawing is of a 'Bat X Man', a classic image in his oeuvre. It is also signed by the artist, 'K. Haring', dated '84' and incudes the artist's insignia. The work has also been dedicated 'For Leonard -'.
The image, a video still of Keith Haring being arrested for 'criminal mischief' (in this case, illegal graffiti) formed a double page spread in Keith Haring's publication 'Art in Transit - Subway Drawings by Keith Haring', lavishly filled with Haring executing his chalk drawings in the New York subway with photos by his friend, the photographer Tseng Kwong Chi, the layout and graphic design by another good friend, Dan Friedman (and the introduction by Henry Geldzahler).
The complete book is also included, along with a postcard invitation to the book launch which was held at Sephamore East (Wednesday, October 3, 6-9pm, 1984).
