Designed by Marc Newson in Paris in 1995 and produced in 1996. Originally commissioned by the Swedish tobacco company, Blend, alongside other designers to design ashtrays for promotional purposes, the circular crystal ashtray was shaped like a slightly deformed 'Orgone' shape with grooves machined into the top. This model has been exhibited at the Design Museum in London, at the Louvre in Paris and at Millesgarden in Stockholm. Marc Newson used this ashtray in green for Coast Restaurant (Mayfair, London) and it was later re-edited by Habitat under the design direction of Tom Dixon, who produced a hollow version in glass in various colours. This is the original version, handmade in solid crystal (not hollow) and is accompanied by it's original box and leaflet (Made in England).
