'Monochrome und Feuer' was published in a limited edition alongside the catalogue for the famed 1961 exhibition of Yves Klein's work at Museum Haus Lange, Krefeld.
It comprises three separate silkscreened elements - the blue and pink on card and the gold on cardboard (EACH, 32 x 23.5 cm). The exhibition included monochromes, sponge reliefs, anthropometries and the 'Mur de Feu' (wall of fire). The three individual sheets were rendered in the signature colours of the artist: International Klein Blue (IKB), pink and gold (to which Klein hand-applied appliques of gold leaf) and have become iconic examples of the artist's work. Not all examples have the hand-applied gold leaf by Klein (as this one has).
Included also, is the exhibition catalog "Yves Klein. Monochrome and Fire", published by the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum, Krefeld, on the occasion of the artist's first complete German exhibition on January 14th until February 26, 1961 in the Museum Haus Lange, Krefeld.
In excellent condition - BLUE: Minimally bumped with loss of color on the lower right edge and on the left edge of the sheet below the middle. Tiny superficial rubbing and scratches on the upper and right edge of the sheet. PINK: left and right lower outermost corners of the sheet slightly bumped with minimal loss of color. GOLD: barely noticeable tiny chip on the lower edge left of center.
