A pair of 'Paramount' suspension lamps designed by Philippe Starck for the Paramount Hotel in New York City. This beautiful, sculptural and sinuous suspension lamp was designed by Philippe Starck for Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell's refurbishment of the Paramount Hotel in New York City, from 1990. Philippe Starck was hired to be the creative director for the complete overhaul of the hotel and designed every aspect of what was to become one of the world's most iconic designer boutique hotels. Complete with original purple fabric braided electrical cable and concealed fixing for steel cable for suspending the lamps over the desired area for highlighting specific areas with accent lighting. A signature Starck design, created by the handmade, skilled process of sand-casted aluminium, in France, and weighing in at a hefty 4.5 KG (EACH). Commissioned exclusively for the hotel project and not previously available commercially as a retail product.
NOTE: These lamps have been professionally internally re-wired and the bulb holder has been replaced with a brand new one and are PAT tested.
